SafeToGo® 302E is a hardware encrypted removable flash drive that protects your sensitive and confidential data. It has a USB 3.1 connector which means it is really fast and backward compatible with all USB 2.0 devices.
Encryption of data, in any way, is a good thing. Encryption can be implemented in software or hardware, but which is best? The simple answer is hardware, as encryption software, like any software is prone to being hacked. Read our Hardware vs Software Encryption document to find out more.
SafeToGo® 302E uses a 256-bit AES, 2048-bit RSA hardware module to encrypt the data. There are no unencrypted partitions so a user cannot bypass the encryption - 100% of the data written to the device will be encrypted.
SafeToGo® 302E does not have a backdoor or master password, it can only be accessed with the user's password.
No, you don’t. SafeToGo® 302E is compatible with Windows and Mac. When you connect SafeToGo® 302E to a computer, it automatically starts a zero-footprint GUI so a password can be created. The password is hardware verified on SafeToGo® 302E and cannot be tampered with. If your computer has disabled the autorun facility go to file explorer and double click on the SafeToGo® 302E icon.
The password needs eight (8) characters with a minimum of upper and lower case, numbers and special characters. This gives 218 trillion combinations.
SafeToGo® 302E allows a maximum of 10 attempts to re-enter your password. If the correct password is not entered on the 10th attempt your drive will be reset and this process will automatically delete the data.
SafeToGo® 302E can be configured by the user to lockdown after a set period of time in case you leave your PC unattended.
No, SafeToGo® 302E is not compatible with Linux. SafeToGo® 302E is compatible with Windows 7-10 and Mac.
Your machine may have autorun disabled for security or it may be blocked by antivirus software. Go to file, browser and double click on the SafeToGo® 302E launcher application (logo) and this will launch the login interface. If the login interface still does not show, your machine may not have an up-to-date Certificate Authority list. This can be downloaded from Microsoft and installed using Windows Update.
